Some people’s pain is so much they need to keep the whole world away from them…
All you need to do is check in on them, connect to them — send them a note.
Without intention, without judgement, without your own agenda and without a need to hear back.
Don’t fix — just be present. A person will fix themselves when they are ready.
With trauma, with loss, with illness their version of fixing won’t be the same as yours — and maybe this person will only
make (what appears to be) one small step in a lifetime.
So just surround them in compassion (not pity), see them as strong — and check in on them.
Connect with them. Regularly. Even if it is just forever.
