Some people’s pain is so much they need to keep the whole world away from them…
All you need to do is check in on them, connect to them — send them a note.
Without intention, without judgement, without your own agenda and without a need to hear back.
Don’t fix — just be present. A person will fix themselves when they are ready.
With trauma, with loss, with illness, their version of fixing won’t be the same as yours. And maybe this person will only make (what appears to be) one small step in a lifetime.
So just surround them in compassion (not pity), see them as strong — and check in on them.
Connect with them. Regularly. Even if it is just forever.
